Captain Magnus Andersen
The Viking ship replica sailed by Captain Magnus Andersen and his men. From Norway, they crossed the Atlantic Ocean, stopped in New York (where they were jailed for a night for getting into a brawl), and then sailed through the Great Lakes for a arrival, with much fanfare, at Chicago’s World’s Fair. From ~1920 til 1995, this ship was on exhibit in Lincoln Park. Currently it is in storage because it is deteriorating.
