On August 18, 2012, the Heineken Red Star Access tour kicked-off in Chicago at the famed House of Blues. The evening was hosted by comedian Affion Crockett and included performances by Hip-hop heavyweights Nas and Pusha T, while celebrities such as MC Lyte, Sway Calloway, Dawn Richard, and Luke James enjoyed the concert in Heineken’s VIP booths.
Pusha T made his way to the stage at 9:30 PM for a 45-minute set, where the G.O.O.D. Music artist performed old and new hits including “My God”, “New God Flow” and “Exodus 23:1”.
Nas hit the stage at 11 PM and performed his classic hits such as “If I Ruled The World” and his recent hits “The Don” and “Daughters” from his recent Billboard chart-topping album Life Is Good. During Red Star Access, Heineken debuted their limited-edition collaborative products, which included t-shirts and snapback hats designed by New York-based brand, Rocksmith, Black Apple, and New Era, and LA-based brand, Diamond Supply Co. Also at the event, entertainment stations were set up including a game zone, photography station, and an audio mixing zone powered by the djay app, Algoriddim.
Heineken Red Star Access is an annual summer program that showcases music’s hottest and freshest experiences nationwide. Additional Heineken performers include Trey Songz, Kendrick Lamar, B.o.B., and Rev Run. Chicago marked the first stop in the tour with upcoming stops in Atlanta, D.C., New York City, and Philadelphia. The official hashtag for the tour is #FollowRedStar.
