Everyone has been wondering why Kanye West has not been working on a new Album. Well I came across some very exciting information about this Hip-Hop Icon.
The Daily Telegraph reports ” West has set up shop in Paris as he tries to (re)launch a career in fashion. According to an anonymous source West stated that, he is working on a high-end line of men’s and women’s clothing that may debut as early as September.
West has dabbed in fashion once before. His limited-edition line of scarves that is inspired by the cover for his latest album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, were smash hits with the fashion crowd. West also had the opportunity to intern at Fendi under the tutelage of Karl Lagerfeld, and also collaborated with Nike and Louis Vuitton, and even wrote a fashion article for Complex Magazine. He is expected to present Celine’s designer Phoebe Philo with an award today June 6, 2011 at the CFDA Awards.
West had been working on another label called Pastelle, but announced in late 2009 that it would never be released.
According to the Telegraph West stated to Elle last year: “Did you not see the Lindsay and Ungaro collection? That was 9/11 for celebrities doing fashion. After that I thought: ‘Well I can’t do a line now.” ”
For me I am very excited that West is creating a full line on his own terms, and not just creating accessories for someone else.
