Things move fast in the industry when you are hot, during this time in 2005 Buffy was tearing up the industry as well. While Buffy was burning the magazine circuit, Summer Walker began her reign over videos. At any given time on MTV and BET every hour on the hour you could see Summer Walker in heavy video rotation.

Now how does one become a Video Vixen? There is no formula for success in this game either you have it or you don’t. Summers path was put on her not seeked out like many models in the game, I guess you can say it was one of those fairy tale stories. It all started Girl goes to video shoot with friend to hang out, director sees her and says “hey you’re a star I want you in my next video”. Next thing you know you are being flown to LA for one of the hottest songs out by a new group Trillville “cut something”. But is it all flights, dinners and big pay, videos with the industries top artist? Nope!!!

Let’s go back to May 7, 2006 myself and Summer are doing our usually browsing on line doing research when a call comes in about a new Bobby Valentino video. Excitement fills the room the buzz is finally getting her somewhere. Then comes the unexpected drama the industry can bring. Three different managers in a 24 hour period all began to negotiate Summers Video rate. Back and Forth, higher and lower this went on for 2 days between casting director and managers
