I know everyone gets asked this question, but what initially drew you to Hip Hop?
My brother and his friends were pivotal to me developing a love for the music. He would write rhymes in his notebooks and when he would leave the house, I would go in his room and read them. One day I stumbled across this rhyme he wrote. It was a version of Too Short's “Cocktails.” but he used all of my friends’ names in it. So I retaliated and used his friends on my own version. That was the first rhyme I ever wrote. I had been writing poetry since the third grade so I guess it was just a matter of time before I really started writing rhymes seriously.
So we know what drew you to music, but what intrigued you about the world of modeling?
Wow, when it comes to modeling that's a different story. I was never really interested in modeling until I met a model by the name of Tiffani Lyons. I used to see her pictures posted on the net everywhere, and they were so cute. I just really wanted to see what it would look like if I took some professional pictures. So she hooked me up with one of her photographers and I took a few pictures. But I didn't really get into it until I hooked up with Eye Candy Modeling and TKM. After that, I was hooked.
You have expressed your displeasure in the past with the way some women use sex to get ahead. Tell our readers why it bothers you so much?
It makes it hard for women like myself who are really doing this shit for real and trying to make it happen without providing sexual favors for anybody. There are so many women that get in touch with the photographers and fashion editors, and do anything for a spread in a magazine. That will never be me though. What these girls don't realize is that you can suck and fuck your way into a magazine or on the big screen, but when the next pretty girl comes along who will do the same thing, they will kick you to the curb.
Would you ever sell sex to get ahead? And what I mean by sex is using sexy words or images to get the attention of your listeners.
That's not the type of image I portray when it comes to music. You know how Biggie said ‘keep your family and business completely separated?’ Well I keep my modeling and music completely separate. I just don't mix the two. I've taken some pretty risky pictures and don't mind sharing them as everything is done in good taste. I've taken everything from lingerie to fashion, but I've never taken any nude pictures. I won’t take it that far. That's really pushing the envelope for me. Some things are just not for everybody to see. I'm think I’m a pretty attractive woman; I just don't think I need to do all of that to captivate the attention of the audience.
